Stupid Freshmen

(#29)

As I got onto the Gables connector, the young driver accelerated before I even had the chance to sit down entirely. I crashed against the seat as he took off down past McConnell and Horton Halls, which were mirror images of eachother although neither could be considered anything but ugly. As we rounded the corner, the driver sped up rather than braked. Suddenly as we reached the T intersection of McDaniel drive, ten students ran across the road. Even if the driver had been driving at a more cautious speed, these students would still have been hard to spot. They never once looked either way before crossing the street.

Freshmen. You could tell. At UNH there are 1050 degree seeking freshmen men and 1511 degree seeking freshmen women, and the majority could be easily picked out of a crowd. Suddenly another hoard of them ran across the road, this time dressed in what seemed to be bad 80's attire. One girl stopped in the middle of the road, fumbled with her camera, and took a picture of our bus.

By this time, there were cars waiting to go on all three sides of the T intersection. Our busdriver began to get frustrated, saying things like "stupid fucking freshmen", and "oh, so you've never seen a bus before? Get out of the road!". I honestly couldn't say I blamed him.

Great Description

I remember the days of being a freshman. I thougth that the world revolved around me and that I still liked to have fun, even though it seemed all the upper class men were worried about was school. I am guilty of being a loser freshman at times... but this made me laugh and reflect of some of the stupid things I did in the fall of 2000.
